Yep that’s right.
Yesterday as Christie and I were waiting for class to start I asked about her new iPhone. She handed it to me and said “you can look at it if you want.”
Well that was kind of awkward. I wanted to respect her privacy, so I decided to look at something safe, the weather report. On the seven-day Los Angeles forecast, there was a rain icon next to the day Friday. “Yeah right,” I thought as I moved on to the Safari browser to see if I could register for classes.
But as I woke up this morning, I began to come to, thinking, “what’s that sound? Oh yeah, rain!” So the iPhone’s weather service is accurate, hallelujah.
I’ve already spent a large portion of this rainy day outside. Covered, but outside. My friend David found out recently that he passed the California bar exam, and today was his swearing-in ceremony. His parents and sister are in town, so afterwards we went and ate Korean barbecue. The kind you cook at your table. So we diligently plowed our way through the plates of marinated beef and kim chi and jap chae, and now my hair smells like meat and charcoal. Excellent.
But congratulations, David! Passing the bar is a huge accomplishment, and there was never any doubt in my mind that he would do well.
And now I’m going to watch Pan’s Labyrinth…
