choices, choices

I want to make one of these from the photographs I took in Turkey.
However, the minimum system requirements for a  Mac are 10.4.5.
My computer is currently running on 10.3.9.
This means I would need to upgrade to Apple’s new Leopard operating system.
Which means I could buy the $116 upgrade and install in on my G4.
Or I could just go ahead and buy a new Macbook/Macbook Pro.
But that would cost about 10x as much.
But I could consider it an investment.
Thoughts?
