This is the blog of Sandra Vahtel.

As of March of 2009, I am a masters degree candidate at the University of Southern California. I will receive my Master of Professional Writing upon commencement in May of 2009. My thesis is in stageplay, but I write creative non-fiction, short story fiction, and professional/technical writing. I’m also proficient in copy editing and am available for freelance work.

In addition to my studies, I’m currently the editor-in-chief of the Southern California Review, the literary magazine of the MPW program at the USC College of Arts, Letters and Sciences.

I cover the L.A. rock scene as a photographer for the website LAist. So far I’ve shot the likes of Fleet Foxes, Sigur Ros, Patrick Park, Beck, Grace Potter, Red Cortez, Little Joy, Sara Lov, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and the Eagles of Death Metal. Archives can be found at the LAist.
