if you’re in the area
Hey, if any of you are in the L.A. area, and are so inclined, I think you should come the first-ever staged reading of the first act of my new play, Appetites.
As part of the workshop I attend, we are given a chance to have our work read—on stage, by professional actors, led by experienced directors, at the conclusion of every nine-week session. This time around, I, along with five other dazzlingly wonderful playwrights, are having parts of their plays read. It will be less of a showcase of how great the work is, than the next step in the continuum of trying to tighten and improve our pieces before we send them off into the world of real production and lives of their own.
Like I said, if you are in the L.A. area, please come and show your support through copious laughter and applause and the lending of critical ears. It should come as no surprise that I am equal parts excited and terrified.
